GOP Sen. Susan Collins has no business calling herself a Republican.
She made that very clear when she sabotaged the GOP’s effort to make good on their seven-year promise to save the country from the Obamacare disaster.
Then, she came up with some lame excuse about Planned Parenthood funding which didn’t even remotely adhere to the facts.
Don’t take my word for it. Apparently, her constituents in Maine aren’t happy with her either.
According to a new poll, Collins might not make it through the primary if she runs again.
The new PPP poll of Republican Mainers has some troubling results for Collins. More than 60 percent of respondents said that they were less likely to vote for Collins in a primary due to her vote on Obamacare repeal, and 62 percent of respondents said that they disapproved of her job in the Senate. Further, only 28 percent of respondents would even commit to voting for Collins in a potential primary situation, and 55 percent said that they’d like to vote for someone who had LePage’s backing. Curiously, a plurality of respondents said that they’d rather vote for Mary Mahew, the current Health and Human Services Commissioner, than Collins. Mahew is the only Republican who has actually declared candidacy.
That’s what happens when you defy the voters who send you to Washington.
This is fantastic news. It shows you that the establishment GOP is still in trouble.
If Republican voters are smart, they will throw out any elected official who sabotages the president’s agenda and/or ignores the promises the GOP made to voters.
